Additional Information
The menhir (Kuthukkal) is approximately 25 feet in height, with a width of 4 feet at the base and 2 feet at the top. Its thickness ranges from half a foot to one foot. Menhirs are often associated with burial practices of the megalithic period. However, this menhir is currently worshipped as a guardian deity by the local people. They have covered it with a white garment (veshti), offer fruits, and perform ritualistic purification (abishekam) of the deity, whom they have named 'Muniyāndi Sāmi'. The menhir is also referred to as 'Nattukkal Īshvarar'. The tradition of divination is also practiced at this temple.
